Hublot has been doing some great stuff in the last 12 months. Look at the Usain Bolt, the Red Magic, and now this reference: The Big Bang Meca-10 Shepard Fairey I’ve been a fan of Shepard’s since 1997 when I saw a documentary about him on someone’s dirty old vhs tape that was full of other pre internet virality. Is virality a word? Yes, it is now. His fame stems from making stickers from a picture of Andre the Giant he started putting up around Rhode Island in the early 1990s. Two New Floyd Mayweather Hublot Big Bang Unicos
Floyd Mayweather is a now-retired boxer with a 50-0 record. He was driven out of retirement by Irish MMA champion Conor McGregor after an almost two year absense in summer 2017 for probably the most watched boxing match of all time. Mayweather pocketed over $100 Million and according to certain sources, possibly even double that. The point here being the guy is big business. Usain Bolt rocks a Big Bang Sapphire on Complex’s Sneaker Shopping
Fast runner and all around cool-guy Usain Bolt was the guest on the November 13th episode of Complex’s web series Sneaker Shopping. I’m not a big fan of Sapphire cases, but this one looks great. It’s Hublot’s Big Bang Sapphire, Usain Bolt model. The gold pushers, skeletonized dial, even the green minutes track all work very well together. Those gold pushers in a sapphire case, wow! What watch is Jay-Z wearing on Saturday Night Live?
Arguably the best hip-hop artist of the last 15 Years is wearing a yellow gold watch on Saturday Night Live. What the hell is it? Jay-Z has worked with watch companies in the past (Hublot!) so I think it’s somewhat safe to say he’s a watch guy. This first set of pictures are from his second song. My guess is a reference 5119 Patek Phillipe calatrava. You can clearly see the sub-seconds dial and the hand shape, there is no Patek clasp visible…so there are the available clues.
