Shinola’s New Petoskey Stone Dial Watch Collection
I’ll admit it, I’m not a huge fan of Shinola. But this dial is madness. At 37mm, it works well with the patterns in the watches shown. The gold PVD looks great with the subdued yellows and browns in the stone. It’s certainly not for me, but using locally-found fossilized rock to make dials to a very local-centric brand? That’s cool. Maybe there’s some exotic breed of cow they can source the strap leather from? Kidding, not kidding. The Petoskey stone is a unique fossilized rock found exclusively along the shores of Lake Michigan. How to make a perfect social media watch video
I will buy this and every other watch Greubel Forsey make. Once I win the powerball. But seriously, this is a nice video, good music, good editing, and it doesn’t even come near the Instagram time limit. It doesn’t need to. The Grande Sonnerie is well and truly Greubel Forsey’s most complex creation to date. A post shared by GreubelForsey (@greubel.forsey) on Sep 25, 2017 at 7:46am PDT

Roger Dubuis’ Excalibur or Aventador S or Phantasia or Valerian Steel or Car watch from the Future
I’m not a fan. Car company/watch crossovers are mostly crap. I’m not a fan of this watch. it’s not for me, but let’s discuss. The deadbeat seconds is a cool “complication” I’ll admit- but no thanks. I like seeing the engine cover make an appearance on dial side. The yellow works well with the jewels. I like Lamborghini, in fact, I still have to snap a picture whenever I see one. While I am taking that picture which will languish on my phone until I upgrade it and dump the pics onto an external hard drive which will sit on a shelf for eternity, I ponder what it must…

Tudor Brand Ambassadors = KILLING IT.
LADY GAGA DAVID BECKHAM Born to dare. Game. Set. Match. Pack it up, they’ve won. Getting Lady Gaga on board is pure genius. She has an army of devoted fans, most of which probably don’t have a watch, let alone a nice watch. She’s here to tell you t hat you can share her values with a fine timepiece. Don’t keep Gaga waiting! A Tudor Heritage Blackbay. A nice sized, super versatile watch. Hell, I want one. (Maybe not the red, but I’d love to take any model for a test spin. Is anyone listening at Tudor.) As far as David Beckham, I’ll simply refer to him as…

The new Tom Brady Tag Heuer 01 Tag Tom Brady Heuer 12 01 Tag yawn…..
I lived in Boston for a handful of years when Tom Brady was winning Super Bowls. Tag Heuer currenty has Brady, quarterback for the New England Patriots, as a Brand ambassador. I like the Patriots. I like Boston. I like Tom Brady. I loath this watch. Here’s the newest Brady themed LE Uh-huh. Thanks. It feels like a fat bloated saloon car that no on really wants, but buys out on necessity. The “12” at the 12 register kills me. Atrocious. And I know, it’s his number in their jersey font. Unfortunately in this situation, it’s too on the nose. The red/blue color scheme for the Pats is f-i-n-e. One…

Random Thoughts on Bamford Watch Department
Listen, I liked Bamford Rolexes. And even some of their Patek work. Originally I was made aware of them in a blog post about their Popeye collaborations. Years ago. I still want one of those and certain models of their Snoopy collaborations While I think the blackout look will be insanely dated in about 5…4…3…2…1….. I lusted after one at some point a few years ago. It was smart of them to market a new Brand New DIY Paul Newman Daytona a few years prior to the revision in 2016. I’d still like a Bamford Newman….and a legic, new-model Rolex Daytona 116500. Cut to last week, they’re dipping out…

Oh, Hello.
Hi. I am a fan of watches and wanted to start my own site about watches. An honest website. The opinions are mine and completely 100% correct. I also have thoughts on a few other subjects: cars, coffee, and art. Marc
