Mark Wahlberg and watches

Mark Wahlberg has every Rolex watch you could ever want.  He wears them, too.   Daytona, Sky-Dweller, Day-Date you name it. The star of Boogie Nights and Three Kings has an affinity for the brand and watches in general.

While wasting time online, as one does, I came across this video featuring Mark Wahlberg decoding bits of Boston slang for Vanity Fair.   Having previously lived in Boston, I was intrigued.

What’s that?  One of the crazy Rolex Daytonas with the perfectly selected rainbow colored sapphires  on the bezel.    A search on Chrono24 shows pricing at around $180K for this gold reference.  Other references in steel and white gold are priced quite differently at $20 and $100K+.

Would I wear this watch? Hell yes.  Would I buy this watch, probably not.  It’s out there.  There other models that don’t feature the diamonds on the lugs and crown guard, that I honestly think look better.  (These also might not be legitmate Rolex created products, I’m not sure I’ve not devoted too much time to researching these references.)
